How Hearth handles your data

Who we are

Hearth is a community food ordering platform. This privacy policy explains how Hearth handles personal data collected when you place an order through a Hearth-powered drop.

What we collect

When you place an order, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address or phone number
  • Your delivery address and postcode
  • Your order contents
  • Whether you opted in to hear about future drops (marketing preference)
  • The drop you ordered from, including date and location context

We do not collect payment card details. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, which has its own privacy policy.

Why we collect it

We collect this information to:

  • Fulfil your order and keep you updated on its status
  • Allow the food vendor to prepare and deliver your food
  • Understand local demand so future drops can be better planned and targeted
  • Contact you about future drops from the same vendor, if you opted in

Who holds your data

Your data is held by Hearth. It is also accessible to the vendor running the drop you ordered from, for the purpose of fulfilling your order and, where you have opted in, contacting you about future drops.

Your data is not sold to third parties.

How long we keep it

We retain order data for up to 3 years. You can request deletion at any time (see below).

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • See the data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct it
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Withdraw your marketing consent at any time

Cookies

Hearth does not currently use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. This may be updated as the platform develops.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated clearly.
